Who is Guru Randhawa?

Guru Randhawa, born Gursharanjot Singh Randhawa on 30 August 1991 in Gurdaspur, Punjab, is an Indian singer and songwriter and one of the most-streamed Punjabi artists in the world. He is known for catchy, dance-ready Punjabi pop built around hooks that cross over easily into Bollywood and international markets, and for a string of music videos that rank among the most-viewed by any Indian artist.

Rise to fame

Randhawa came up through the Punjabi music scene in the mid-2010s, with early tracks like "Patola" bringing him attention. His breakthrough arrived with "Suit" and then "Lahore" in 2017 — the latter becoming one of the most-watched music videos of its time and turning him into a household name well beyond Punjab.
