She is a two-time Filmfare Award winner, taking home Best Female Playback Singer honours for "Jag Ghoomeya" (from Sultan) and for "Paani Ravi Da". Beyond film, she is closely associated with Punjabi folk-pop, reinterpreting traditional songs for contemporary audiences, and has built a strong independent catalogue.
