Who is Raghav Chaitanya?
Raghav Chaitanya (born 23 October 1994 in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh) is an Indian playback singer, songwriter, composer and guitarist who has emerged as one of Bollywood's most promising young male voices. He earned his degree from Amity University, Noida before moving to Mumbai to pursue music.
From rock fan to playback singer
He grew up idolising rock acts like AC/DC, Metallica and Kurt Cobain while also admiring the Bollywood singing of the late KK. After a self-described awkward adolescent phase that kept him on guitar rather than the mic, he returned to singing in college and headed straight for Mumbai rather than the reality-show route.
Award-winning breakthrough
Raghav won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer for "Ek Tukda Dhoop" from Thappad, making him the youngest artist to win the award. He has since become a sought-after voice, frequently compared to KK for his emotive, melodic style.
Notable songs
His hits include "Dil" from Ek Villain Returns, "Tujhse Pyaar Karta Hoon" from Freddy (composed by Pritam), "Hua Main" from Animal and the chartbuster "Tum Se" from Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, alongside non-film singles such as "Aise Kyun" and "Baatien".
Recent work
In 2026 he featured on the Cocktail 2 soundtrack with Mashooqa.
