Who is Gracie Abrams?
Gracie Abrams (born 7 September 1999 in Los Angeles) is an American singer-songwriter celebrated for intimate, confessional alt-pop built on diaristic lyrics and a hushed, emotional delivery. The daughter of filmmaker J.J. Abrams, she built her own following first on social media and then through a string of acclaimed releases on Interscope Records.
Early career
She began sharing songs online as a teenager, drawing a devoted fanbase before any major release, and signed to Interscope on the strength of that organic following. Her early EPs established the whispery, journal-entry intimacy that became her signature.
Albums and breakthrough
Her debut album Good Riddance (2023), made with The National's Aaron Dessner, won critical praise, and its follow-up The Secret of Us (2024) pushed her into the mainstream. Her biggest hit, "That's So True" (2024), written with frequent collaborator Audrey Hobert, peaked at number six on the Billboard Hot 100 and became her first number one on the Pop Airplay chart.
A rising star
Her profile soared further as an opening act on Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, and she has earned Grammy recognition among pop's leading young songwriters — part of a wave of women remaking pop around vulnerability and detail.
Recent work
In 2026 she released Look at My Life, the second single from her third album Daughter From Hell, a reflective song she considered significant enough to name her upcoming tour after.
