Who is Harrdy Sandhu?
Harrdy Sandhu (born Hardavinder Singh Sandhu on 6 September 1986 in Patiala, Punjab) is an Indian singer, actor and former cricketer who works across Punjabi and Hindi music. With a soft, romantic tone and a run of viral hits, he has become one of the most popular voices in modern Punjabi pop.
From cricket to music
His first love was cricket: Sandhu was a promising fast bowler who played competitively for over a decade before a severe elbow injury forced him to give up the game in 2007. He channelled that ambition into music, releasing his first song, "Tequila Shot", before finding his lane as a melodic pop singer.
Breakthrough hits
He broke through with "Soch" (2013) and "Joker" (2014), and built a major following with romantic and dance-pop singles. In November 2021 he released "Bijlee Bijlee" through Jaani's Desi Melodies — written and composed by Jaani and produced by B Praak — which became a viral phenomenon, with its hook step inspiring well over a million Instagram reels. Other hits include "Naah" and "Kya Baat Ay".
Acting career
In 2021 Sandhu made his Hindi film debut in Kabir Khan's acclaimed sports drama 83, playing former India fast bowler Madan Lal — a fitting role given his own cricketing past.
Recent work
In 2026 he featured on the Cocktail 2 soundtrack with the high-energy Vallah, bringing his polished pop voice to a major Bollywood release.
