Who is Alan Walker?

Alan Walker (born Alan Olav Walker on 24 August 1997 in Northampton, England) is a British-Norwegian DJ, record producer and songwriter, instantly recognisable for the hoodie and face mask he performs in. Since breaking out as a teenager he has become one of the most popular figures in modern electronic music, with billions of streams worldwide.

Early life and self-teaching

Born to a British father and a Norwegian mother, he moved to Bergen, Norway as a small child. It was there, teaching himself music production from online tutorials as a teenager, that he built the melodic, melancholic sound that would define him.

Breakthrough: "Faded"

Walker exploded onto the global stage in 2015 with "Faded", a wistful dance anthem that topped charts across Europe, earned multi-platinum certifications worldwide and amassed billions of streams — turning a bedroom producer into an international headliner almost overnight.

He followed "Faded" with a run of emotive, melody-driven electronic singles:

In 2026 he reunited with Ava Max on FATE, a high-energy EDM anthem that samples the famous choral piece "O Fortuna" and launches the next chapter of the World of Walker.
