The son of celebrated playback singers Tippu and Harini, he grew up immersed in music and became one of the most talked-about young talents in the Tamil industry while still in his early twenties.
A trained, versatile musician
Far from an overnight act, Abhyankkar trained extensively, mastering vocals along with keyboards, tabla, mridangam, drums and guitar. That deep, multi-instrument grounding gives his productions a rare blend of contemporary sound and classical sensibility, and lets him write, arrange and perform much of his own music.
Breakthrough: "Katchi Sera"
He shot to fame with his independent single "Katchi Sera", released in January 2024, which became a nationwide sensation — crossing hundreds of millions of YouTube views and ranking among the most-searched songs of its year. He followed it with another popular single, "Aasa Kooda", cementing his status as Tamil music's most exciting young voice.
Rising as a film composer
His independent success quickly carried into cinema, with high-profile composing assignments including a much-anticipated project for actor Silambarasan. In 2026 he composed and co-sang Karuppa Kooda Va, the high-energy lead single from the Tamil film Karuppu starring Suriya — a marker of how fast he has moved from viral newcomer to in-demand film composer.
