Born into a Banjara family, he studied mechanical engineering before dropping out in 2017 to move to Mumbai and pursue music full-time — a gamble that paid off spectacularly.
Breakthrough: "Gulabi Sadi"
He shot to nationwide fame with the viral 2024 hit "Gulabi Sadi", which inspired more than five million Instagram reels and became the first Marathi song ever displayed on New York's Times Square — a landmark moment for regional Indian music. He followed it with popular tracks such as "Shaky", "Kali Bindi", "Bangles" and "Sundari".

Rathod's signature is a fusion of traditional Marathi folk with contemporary pop, Afrobeats and indie textures — catchy, danceable and unmistakably rooted in regional flavour, which has won him a huge young following and helped push Marathi pop onto the national stage.
Recent work
In 2026 he crossed into Bollywood with Saree, a party number from Dhamaal 4 that he sings and co-composes with Tanishk Bagchi — a major mainstream moment for one of regional pop's brightest stars.
