Read against the lyrics, "Jab Talak" is not the solemn romantic vow it is sometimes taken for. The hook is "main naachun tab talak, tu bole jab talak" — "I'll keep dancing for as long as you tell me to" — and the song is a joyous, uninhibited celebration rather than a yearning ballad.
