Who is Amrinder Gill?
Amrinder Gill (born Amrinder Singh Gill on 11 May 1976) is an Indian singer, songwriter, actor and film producer who works in Punjabi music and cinema — one of the most beloved and decorated figures in the entire Punjabi entertainment industry, equally successful on record and on screen.
Early life
He was raised in Boorchand, near Amritsar, Punjab, studied at Khalsa College, Amritsar and earned a master's degree in agricultural science as an alumnus of Guru Nanak Dev University before turning to music full-time.
Music career
Gill came to prominence with the track "Paigam" and built a deep catalogue of hits including "Daru", "Madhaania", "Khedan De Din" (with Sunidhi Chauhan), "Mel Karade Rabba" and "Dildarian". His 2012 album Judaa won a Brit Asia Music Award for Best Album, and its 2014 sequel Judaa 2 took Best Album at the PTC Punjabi Music Awards — cementing his status as a leading romantic voice.
Films and Rhythm Boyz
He is also a major Punjabi film star, headlining hits like Angrej (2015), Love Punjab (2016) and Lahoriye (2017), often opposite Sargun Mehta. In 2013 he co-founded the production house Rhythm Boyz Entertainment, which has become a powerhouse of Punjabi cinema and music.
Awards and recent work
Gill has won multiple PTC Punjabi Film Awards (including Best Actor and Best Playback Singer) and two Filmfare Awards, among many other honours. In 2026 he released Coffee with Jasmeen Akhtar, a romantic Punjabi duet on his own Rhythm Boyz label.
